flathead six to ?
hey i want to update my 1949 f-1 flat six to a v-8 but dont know what way to go.....i'd like big block power but i dont like the big block parts cost, i was thinking a 302 from a mustang but then i got thinkin (as dangerous as that sounds) and dreamt of a fuel inj. engine and how awesome it would be 
but also how much work it would take......so if anybodys got some input, fire away

The 302 would the easiest.
Next up a 351.
With the 302, you could go stock Mustang, or do the 347 stroker thing.
With the 351, you could go with the 392 or 393, or even 427.
A "mild" efi 427 would be very interesting.....
