c 6 upshift question
tranny shifted good until transfer case went.
rebuilt put it in, it's good.
advice needed on tracking down delayed, late and weir shift.
1-2 shifts apprx. 15-20 mph, if no heavy throttle, sometimes there is a lag and late upshift if throttle is heavy. 2-3 shift only occurrs if I back off throttle, then shifts smoothly and goes okay.
Have looked at KD, seems good, checked clearances with feeler gauges, close enough and didn't have shift problems prior to transfer case meltdown. So that should be okay, nothing looks bad, or moves bad. Unless I'm missing something.
Have replaced modulator, old ones seemed ok, no fluid leak, maybe a touch gunky and old, but switched it out anyway. There is vaccum at the hose, and seems to be plenty enough, don't hear or see leaks, or cracks.
So I am trying to logically think this through, as it shifts real smooth if I let off the accelerator just for an instant. Could it possibly be too much vaccum pressure from the manifold holding up the shift and I need to loosen the modulator? Or would that be too easy? Could bands be holding it up? Or is my next stop the govenor, or the valves?
Thanx for your thoughts in advance.
Best,
Joe
