Cool Dash lights

My dash lights seem to be going out on my 2003 superduty crew I keep replaceing the fuse, its alright untill i drive at night i just had a car stero installed i really dont know if this is the problem?In my book the dash light fuse isnt the one thats blowing Its fuse number 17 thats blowing its weird any help would be nice thank you.

i just had a car stero installed i really dont know if this is the problem?
The next time the fuse blows, try the radio and all it's features. If something doesn't work, I would suspect the radio.

I looked up #17, and it is the fuse for all the outside running lamps. If you have aftermarket running boards with lights, or any other add on lighting, I would check the wiring very carefully. If a trailer plug was added in the rear, I would check the wiring back there.

I tore apart the dash today behind the head light switch there is ared wire spliced in the brown wire it seems to be going ithe piller i really just trying to track this down. Maybe its in my topper it has alight on the back of it.
