I replaced the starter in my 93 F-150 (junkyard part, cost $40.00) installed it in a half hour. Would have gone faster if I wasn't crawling under the truck. Everything went OK except it sort of chirps when I start the truck. Does it need to be shimmed or something?
By-the-way, the cheapest price I got from a repair shop was $270.00 for a remaned starter. I could have bought a new one for $160.00 ( it listed at $212.00), or a remaned for $140.00. If my math is right that's $130.00 for what would take someone with a lift 15 minutes to do!
