bad brakes

Well its time too change those brake pads on the superduty. Are there any thing that might suprise me or are they pretty much stright forward? If i just put pads on will i lose my break pedal or will it be the same?OH yea my overdrive wont disable just wondering if anybody had a clue its a 03 F250 5.4 with 3.73 gears in it. I replaced the vss and it solved the abs light prob but thats it.

Brakes ,well if the rotors aren't warped and have never been cut before just take them and tell the guy to just take the glaze off them.this will help seat the new pads better. If they have been cut get new rotors cause the heat generated by the new pads will warp then for sure. MHO.Lube the caliper pins and make sure the pins are not worn or you get a caliper hang and also warp a rotor.Use ford premium pads or equivelant(sp I'm lazy))Don't be cheap with your pads.

You could have a fuse problem with the overdrive cancel button or the switch itself is bad .Does the light on the dask comeon?

I would second FortyFordsadvice about not being a cheapo on the pads. I had a problem with aftermarket pads and will never use anything but the OEM Ford pads from here on out...I bought my front pads from the stealership and they were $140 but perhaps one or more FTE sponsors have them and maybe you can save a buck or two by helping those who help us...GOOD LUCK!!
