Does anyone happen to know the flange to flange width of the 8.8 rear axle in the early 90's aerostar? They were in the 4.0 OHV versions from 91-96 I think.
I am not exactly sure if its the same axle (probably is), but I think the width would be the same for any aerostar of that era. If you woulnd't mind getting me a measurement, I would appreciate it very much.
Well the answer is...........not to sure, for hot rod purposes I would go with 158cm, for exact measurements I would go with 158.5cm but that was without the wheels on and the wheels pull the hubs up, measuring it component by component it was 158.2cm and that would be my closest measurement, but as I said for hotrod/custom I would allow the 158 for ease and for any discerpecy. Hope that helps. if it helps the back to back brake plate across the axle ]-------0-------[ the dotted line measurement was 138.2 and the back of the plate to wheel/drum mating surface was 10cm dead. just in case your thinking of 4 link/panhard setup. If you need any other measurements let me know as I have the axle sitting on the ground.
