4x4 Drive Question

I have an 04 F-150 4x4, my second 4x4 in a short time. I had a GMC Jimmy prior to my Ford. Is it normal to feel some resistance when you take your foot off the gas when 4wd is engaged? In 2wd when you let off the gas the truck will slow down naturally and coast, but when I take my foot off the gas in 4wd, sometimes the truck will feel like its "dragging" and not really coast. I ask if this is normal because the GMC did the same thing, and I thought there was a problem with it (the dealer could not find a problem with the GMC). I notice in both it is especially apparent when making sharp turns.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Well you have twice the drag (two more wheels bound by mechanics) when in four wheel drive. It sounds normal to me.

I would agree with you, but it does not do it all the time. And why is it especially noticeable turning corners (sometimes)?

Well you should experience more bind in the corners. Is it just binding, or are there any other sounds/movements?

not really...like you said it is normal for there to be a little more resistance there. So you can hear that resistance a little. But there are no disturbing sounds. Sounded the same as the Jimmy.
