Starter wont come off
Hey guys,
I'm trying to remove the starter in my 1997 F 150, need to replace the solenoid. I've removed the two bolts described in my Chilton manual, but the thing still won't budge.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The last bolt that you are probably looking for is on the top side of the starter and if you do not have a body lift in, it is very hard to get at. If I remember correctly, I used a 2 foot extension and it was still a pain in the butt.

When I put my starter back in, I cheated and only used two of the bolts. I have not had any problems yet. I also bought my starter on ebay and saved a ton of money. I got it for 63.00 including shipping. It was a new remanufactured. It has been in about a year and a half.
