Went to helminc.com and noticed the CD is $170 and the book is $200 or vise versa. Anyway, I bought this CD (item #8002599788) off eBayf or less than $10. It is supposed to be a Ford CD that dealers use. Anybody know if I got the right one.
I did the same. The first one would not load so he sent me another. I am just now figuring out how to use it. It looks to be what the techs use by the wording. I am in the process of printing what I need to fix my dam windows and door locks.
i got one off ebay ... it was "supose" to be the ford one it was less than $10.00 it sucked big time... it was worse than worse. It didnt have the red or colored label saying ford, it was a white paper stuck to the cd where the guy had printed the letters FORD. It was a copy of a copy of a copy .. it was very hard to read and was worthless....
I ended up talking to the ford diesel mech at the ford garage and he gave me an old one he had laying around, its a DVD which is way better quality.I didnt even realize how terrible the cd was until i checked out the DVD, i was blaming the computer the printer and just about anything and every thing until i seen the DVD. I hope you have much much better luck than i did on ebay with the shop manual cd, cause mine was a waste of money.
FWIW Helminc's version isn't much better. I am very dissatisfied with the quality of th e pictures that come with thier manual. The diagrams look like fax images.
Im lokking for the cd manual too.Just dont want to spend the money for a new one and the ones on ebay are not the ones that i need. Also dont want to get screwed and buy a peice of juck cd either.
Blueeyes .... go visit with your ford garage mech, it worked for me.. he will probably give you an old one, i got a '99 and the mechanic at our ford garage gave me an early 2000 edition, they get updated DVDs all the time as i understand it, when i was in his bay talking to him there were 3 or 4 in the trash barrel.
I got both the paperback and cd off of ebay. The cd is the same info as the paperback, and is quicker to find things. However it is a pain printing it out to take to the truck, it only prints the intructions, if you want the pic you have to print them seperately, and the wiring diagram absolutely sucks. That is why I have the paperback, also I don't have a laptop, so when I go on the road the cd is useless.
