AX came up with a great idea for using his poor dogs stainless steel dog bowl for a cover on his heater unit. I was wondering if anyone can find other uses on a effie for the infamous "stainless steel dog bowl"?
Here's a few of my suggestions.
1. I'd get a set of four bowls and weld them to a set of baby moon hub caps. I'd have the polished first.
2. Possible housings for the rear lights or headlights?
3. Air cleaner ornament?
4. water pump pulley covers? (would look hot polished with a larger bowl for the crank and a smaller bowl on the upper pulley)?
LOL..... It must be getting late?????

it iiiiiiiis late.....how about a small one to replace that cover on a "Grant Steering Wheel Adapter". You know the one, that used to be chrome and now they just paint them black. I paid $20 for the kit, then took that cover down to the plater, and he wanted $40 to plate it.

A little trimming and one of the pants belts that has mysteriously shrunk in your closet and you could make a reproduction of the chromed german army helmets that were popular in the 60's! Screw a lampshade ornament to the top if you want the officer version...
Drop a couple into holesawn holes in your console, dashtop or floor. Instant cupholders!
You guys crack me up! I must admit I've been danged curious since AX told us awhile back about his dog bowl cover (a great idea IMHO)
Where's the pics AX??
I saw a magazine article not too long ago where someone took some polished skillets and fabricated some great looking disc brake shields on an open fendered roadster.
I haven't worked on the panel in several weeks while we prepared for and raced in our national championships, but the stars are aligning nicely so I should be able to throw the cover back again this weekend and hopefully take some pix of the (in)famous MDD!
Don't touch that dial...
So, now the secrets out. Let the cat out of the bag so to speak. The reason your winning all these national championship is you have the advantage of the stainless wind resistant dog bowl system on your race cars. Come on AX, let us in the secret, where those pics?????? LOL....
I used a Screen Door Kick Guard as a radiator protector once.
I used my Mothers Ironing Board for a Go Cart, That one HURT
I used the strings from a hooded sweat shirt to fix my Vacum Wipers, tey would only go towards the center, so I tied the sweat shirt strings to the wiper arm ran the through the vent window. I'd pull the wiper up and the motor would pull it back down. Drove about 75 miles in a snow storm like that.
....way back when as a teenager I was overhauling an engine and didn't have access to any kind of parts cleaner besides and old hubcap and some kerosene. While doing my chores one afternoon (unloading the dishwasher) I had a brain flash, yep, thats right, I stuffed the dishwasher full of engine parts and set her to washing. The danged thing worked great. The second time I tried it I forgot to get my engine parts out of it before mom got home from work....ooops
Needless to say, mom wasn't nearly as thrilled about my alternative uses for the hosuehold appliances as I was
