I e-mailed Stan's Headers about their replacement y-pipe as a poster here said they made. Stan sent pics and I put them in my gallery so if someone could put them in this thread for all to see easier that would be great. Cost is $125
I have not bought the pipe. Stan sent the pics to me. I'm not sure what the pipe is made of, he didn't say because i didn't ask. Feel free to e-mail him. He responded same day.
Based on the comparison photo alone, I would be interested in that y pipe. I wonder what its worth on a dyno. Somebody here on the board had a custom one made but Stan's looks alot cleaner.
From what I see, the stock system is a "mild" stainless - at least in my '01.
If it's aluminized iron, I can't wait for it to rot through
But again, I think it's just a mild stainless - mine has a "patina" of corrosion on it, and it doesn't look like it's aluminized, just mild stainless - mild enough to rust slightly, but not rot through.
No part number. The reciept just says "'03 Ford V-10 y pipe 4x4". I talk to Stan when I ordered it and he new exactly what I needed. $150 plus 13.05$ shipping.
I just wanted to keep you fellas updated. The pipe Stan sent seemed too long when I would hold it up to the factory pipe. I e-mailed Stan some pictures and he agreed. He sent me another pipe in 2 days and this one lookes like it will work. Hopefully I can get it installed in a couple of days. Comparison pics of the 2 pipes are in my gallery.
