1962 body, 1979 chassis

Hi all...I'm looking for some information and am hoping someone here can help me out. I am wanting to put a 1962 unibody on a 1979 chassis, and am wondering if they will match up without any major modifications. I haven't purchased them yet as I want to get all the info beforer I do. Do short boxes match better than long boxes? Or is there a difference?
Any help, dimensions, ideas, or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

-Chris

ouch!!!!! i dont beleive that will work without some major modification. 2nd biggest thing is wheel base,1st is just lifting that unibody off the frame. man that thing has got to weigh a ton or two! i am afraid the cabmounts are way wrong, and again, i beleive the wheelbase is wrong too.

any thing can be done, but this is a lot of exxtra work. firstly the body and chasis wiegh a ton or 2 each. nothing will line up, the wheelbase is all off ect ect ect. get the picture? it's gonna take a lot of welding, cutting, and drilling. but it can be done, just not with eaze

That sounds like probably more work than I'd like to do, but I know that it has been done before (for the most part). There is a truck in the User Gallery that is pretty close to what I was thinking about doing, but there is no email address to contact the owner of the truck. If you're interested in seeing it, the URL is:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gallery/displayalbum.php?&albumid=154

The truck is described as consisting of a 62 cab, 63 fenders and hood, 64 grill and box, all bolted to a 79 F150 4x4 chassis.

If it would be way more work than is worth it, I'll probably just pick either a '62 or a '79, and fix that one up (I've already fixed up a '77 and a '79 and sold both of them - the next one I'm keeping)

Thanks for your replys and any future help in advance,

-Chris
