will these interchange?
i currently have a 40-20-40 seat with the fold down center (non-opening)
i am wanting more storage space and my question is will the fold down part from a new superduty fit? are they the same size? what about the if i remove the whole little center seat? will the center console from a new superduty bolt right in or not.
I have a manual shift 4x4 so have to keep room up there but would really like to get a center opening folf down or a center console.
i can find lots on e-bay listed for a superduty they look the same i just want to make sure it will fit before i buy
thanks for any guidence.
The center console may work but I imagine you'll have to drill holes in the floor of the truck to be able to secure it.
It has a gap around the front from spacing it up, but I put a 'flounce' or border under it, with the leather cloth.
I like it, but YMMV.
I have about 52.00 invested in this. I have the center seat, covered in black Ford leather-like cloth that one of these days I will put back in. There is lots of room in the bottom of this one, but my wife says it doesn't look as good as the stock XLT console. But those sell for A LOT of money.

I cut the holes inset so the bolts fit below the surface. I had to raise the front three inches higher at the front, so it would look level. The Superduty slopes and has uneven edges, it reaches down a little more on the drivers side. My flounce covers this.
Anyone that wants to do this needs some short (10 inch or so) pieces of wood. And 4 screws and washers to fasten the console to the wooden strips.
From scratch about a twenty minute job.
I have no skills with upholstery, so my padding job on the top of the console lid is less than perfect. But padding it made my arm happier. The stock cloth was too rough with too little padding, so I over padded this. Very comfortable.
I sit pretty tall in the seat, someone that sits a little lower would not have to raise the console.
