Measurement needed

I want to check to see how bad my front springs are sagging. I have a 86 F250 Ext Cab 4x4 with a 460 and 4spd. I guess a measurement between the top of the front axle to the bottom of the frame should give me a base measurement to go by. If some on has recantly replace their front springs, that would be great!! Or from another stock truck that has no front end problems like bad tire wear or anything would be great too!!!
Has anyone replaced their front leaf springs with arced ones to achieve a 1-2 inch lift?
I'm open to suggestions to achieve the original specs or possibly a 1-2 inch lift, and I'd rather not just bandaide it. I'd rather do it right with replacement parts.
Thanks
Chuck

I measured mine at lunch, and there is about 2.5" between the frame and the top of the spring. Looks as if there is only 1.5 (if that) between the rubber bump-stop and the shock mount. This can't be good.

If they are sagging a lot, the frontend alignment guy will say he can't get it aligned. In my area they usually charge around $15.00 to look at it without aligning it.
