In the Saturday newspaper there was a letter to the editor talking about the bicycle helmet law. The lady talked about when cars started to get seat belts and how older cars had to be converted to seat belts.....THAT NEVER HAPPENED !!
When did seat belts start being standard.....mid to late 60s for Fords, no one had to upgrade their vehicles after for seat belts; she is wrong i think.
Not that i care enough to send another letter to the editor to correct her but am i right ?
In the early 60's the seatbelts were an option in cars. By around 66 they were standard in cars. Something about manufactors were order by the govnment to install them. The trucks came standard by 1970 I believe.
My 64 did not have them or my 67 trucks.
