I just purchased a 1970 - 1972 ford f250 truck "custom", I have two questions:
1. The VIN tag in the door says 08-71, so I am believing that it is a 71, but the owner says 72 (we are still waiting for the reg and paperwork to come in the mail, he lost it).
2 It has 6 lug wheels, does that make it a 3/4 ton or what? havent seen this before.

generally the next model years hit the lots in august and september, but you have a 71, and i also believe a 71 or 72 are the same anyways. one more thing, just because the paper work says something, doesn't mean it's true, especially with older trucks. i have 3 titles for trucks i don't have anymore. just in case i buy a truck that doesn't have a title or something, i'll have one.
