Transmission Mount Bracket
I'm looking for the bracket that bolts to the bottom of the transmission, and rests on the two rubber mounts on the crossmember.
Earlier this year I had a flywheel snap on me, and brought my truck to a shop to have it fixed. They jobbered the mounts, and removed this bracket. I asked them for it back, but they had thrown it out.
I've been looking around in the wrecking yards locally, but it seems these trucks are stripped in less than a day, and then sent to the crusher.
The truck is an '81 F150 4x4 with a 351M and C6 automatic.
If anyone is parting such a truck out, drop me a pm. I can arrange payment and shipping.
I'm not sure if that link will get you to the exact place, but the other thing is they don't ship to your area. But if nobody had it on their own parts truck, sombody may be able to pick one up and ship it to you.
I'm not looking for the mounts themselves, but the plate that would normally rest on the mounts. I have a feeling this is more of a wrecking yard item, or perchance I will luck out and find someone on here who is using such a truck for parts of their own and would be willing to sell the bracket to me.
Since I can't find a picture of one online, those of you that have the Haynes repair manuals can see what I'm talking about on page 7A-4. The exploded diagram at the top shows it as a bracket. It's the one that rests on the rubber insulators and bolts to the transmission itself.
