Well, like 2.7 million other people I left Houston this week to escape the Hurricane that missed us. A bunch of morons were using the shoulder of I-10 as their own personal lane. One group of four families was trucking down the shoulder and I was worn out from driving 120 miles in 13 hours. No JOKE!
Anyway, my truck and trailer just happened to drift onto the shoulder just before a highway sign and this moron had to stop. He was screaming at me because he wanted to go faster. So, I flipped the old DP tuner over to the 140 HP setting, put my foot on the brake and gave it some fuel. Unfortunately for him he had all his windows down and was stuck on the shoulder right beside my tailpipe. I didn't see him again for a few minutes (it took a while for the smoke to clear) but he was quite upset.
Then, I felt a bit guilty until other drivers on the freeway pulled up beside me and gave me the big thumbs up. I guess the old DP tuner has more than one really good use!
It drives me nuts when people do that(drive on the shoulder and then get mad when someone gets in their way). I do it every chance I get. If I have to wait so do you. I know that's kinda rude but if you think about it these are the people that are causing a lot of the traffic and accidents for that matter.
I hung around for the hurricane, almost ran when it took a little westwardly trun Thursday night. Glad I stayed though, I dont have a tuner and probably would have been pretty upset if I couldent have smoked a jerk like you did!!!
Fortunately I live in Magnolia, Tx. So I choose to ride it out. It was a mad house down here. i heard there where people syphoning gas out of the used car lots in Pinehurst. It was a war zone along FM 1774, trash and abandon cars everywhere.
Yeah, I trid to leave too! Took me 3 hrs to get from Cypress to Magnolia, and FM 1774 was a parking lot!!! From Cypress to Huntsville took me just over 6hrs!!! I learned several new dirt roads between 1488 and hwy 30.....thank god I had a diesel, there were gas-powered cars and truck sitting everywhere that had either ran out of gas or overheated from the extended idling!
