I want to put a good system in my truck. Its a crew cab, I want to get a box for 3 10's behind the seat. I haven't decided on which kind yet. I was wondering, I have the factory 6disc head unit. Is there anyway to go about putting in a system and keeping that. I like the look of the factory dash and Just wondering what i could do. Also any suggestions on door speaker, which subs, and what head unit i should get, if i can't keep the factory one. Thanks
JL Audio W3's are pretty cheap for the sound you get from them. You can find deals on ebay for them. For door speakers I recommend Infinity, JL Audio, Eclipse, Focal, Diamond Audio.. the list goes on and on, what's your wallet like? For headunit also, what kind of budget are we working with?

I have to agree with you Jerome. JL W3 are really good, and very good reconmendations on the door speakers. As for the HU yes you can keep it stock, although not recomended for qaulity sound, with the use of a line level converter. It basicly changes the speaker singnal to the RCA that your amp needs. Do a search on it there are tons of post about this. If I were you I would put in either an Eclipse or a Alpine HU. You will be much happier with the outcome. GL

I'm not really going to worry about the budget cause I want some good quality that will last for a while my last truck I had an eclipse head unit and 6disc changer, I had 2 JL audio 10's. The quality was good but it wasn't starting to lose it after about a year. So I want to do everything good this time.
Personally I would go with the Eclipse CD8455 since it has navigation built in (with GPS unit) and it displays on the screen. If that doesn't tickle your fancy go with the CD8454, it's loaded with the same goodies except the navigation part. For door speakers, I would go with Focal's Utopia Be components. They were given EISA's Best Product of the 2005-2006 product year (100wRMS, 91.5dB sensitivity). On top of that I would throw in a single JL Audio W7, powered by a Eclipse DA7122 class D amp. The Eclipse amp matched with the CD8454(5) provides an 8V input via RCA allowing for superb sound reproduction. Now for an all around amp (including sub) I would go for the Eclipse PA5532 (which is a 5 channel amp) for the 70Wx4 Channel + 280Wx1 Channel output. Just personal opinions though.
