400 crank?

Hello everyone, I'm new to this site and have read a lot and found some really good info. I wanted to know if anyone knows where to get a good 400 crank for my 351m. Any advice is appreciated.

Some salvage yards tear down engines for core parts or know someone in the area that does.

Thanks for the info, hopefully at tax time I can have everything done to the engine to prepare for the upgrade. In the meantime I'm adding an intake, carb, cam and lifters, new valve springs, and thinking about going noisy gear drive, any thoughts on that.

The only thing that you will get out of a noisy gear drive is noise. A good double roller chain set will last as long as you need it. Find some other place to spend your money.

All chains strech, gears don't.

agreed. i went in to experiment with the advance/retard keyways after about 500 miles. the double roller chain was totally wrenched out, flopping like it had over 50k on it. i'm running a quiet gear now, kinda wish i got the noisy? one thing for sure though, it hasn't stretched one tiny bit.

I think I'm gonna give the gears a try, if it's not working out I can always go back.

The only thing that gears do is they wear the top of the cam bearing instead of the bottem like the chains do. My gears have been in mine for 5 years.
