I am under the impression that in my truck the front axle is always spinning, theres no hubs, and when u engage 4x4 it simply connects the driveshaft, Wouldnt this make it impossible/bad to have any type of locking diff. in the front?

If your front CV's are always spinning the only good option you'll have is a selectable locker. This will run more bucks than you probably want to spend. You're looking at upwards of 600 - 900 dollars depending on what you get.

The 97+ F150's do not have hubs of any sort, it's a CAD setup.
Definatley do not want an auto locker or a spooled/welded diff in the front.

center axle disconnect, your axle disconnects from the driveshaft at the diff
