Thumbs up First real test drive

Well we just got back from our first real road trip, 2400 miles! Man does that 6.0 have some power. Here at home we live at sea level (western Wa) and I was wondering how my truck would perform in the hills around Yellowstone park (8800 ft.) pulling a 25.5' 5th wheel around. Just as I had hoped it was awsome! It's a 05 f-450 extra cab 6.0 automatic with 4.88 rear end.At 65-70 mph I got 10.5-11mph I had hoped for a little better but the rig I replaced only got 6 mphdoing the same thing. At first I had a little concern when I got midway up the first of many mtn. passes. The temp. started to climb pretty high then like clock work the thermostat would open and down the temp would go back to normal. I really knew we loved the truck when we were in west yellowstone, while sitting at a red light with our windows open a Dodge pulled up besides we had to roll the windows up to finish our conversation. Damn those things are loud and rattle like crazy. I sure love the tow-haul mode and the brake controller and the new improved turn radius.
