sorry here guys. seems my having been a moderator raised some stink.even after i gave it up.
so for you v10 men i'm taking a break away from fte for a while maybe forever.
any one wanting to do so can e-mail me after tomorrow and i'll keep those addresses all the rest are going by-by as i'm going to format my hard drive maybe replace it. proilbly 1200 hours on the 26th.
i'll check in a few times more before the format to see what you guys say.
some of you i'm going to hand copy and keep. like wrench, fred, bfr250 and a few more.
fte has changed to much for me.
prayers to you all
charlie
Charlie, you and I email each other on a regular basis but I want to ask you here in the V10 Forum to rethink your position on not posting here. I pretty well post here and in the running joke thread up in the FTE supporter forum. They are the only two forums I feel comfortable on.
You should still keep in touch down here with your V10 friends. I know what you are saying and I have thought of pulling the pin on this website myself but I like all the people who post down here .
Whatever you decide I will keep in touch but you will be missed by many if you stop posting here. Take care and talk to you later.
I don't post very often but, I am here everyday. After 40 years of GM, I am still just beginning to learn about Fords! It would be a shame to see you go. Most of what I have learned about Fords has come from you, wrenchtraveller, fredvon4, and bfr250sd. Please reconsider.
Fill me in guys. Whats the trouble.? Hate to see anybody leave. Whats changed?
Here is my take on this.
It is stupid and it is immature but at 54 years of age I have learned long ago that in some areas men never grow up.
Take Harley riders and Honda riders. Sometimes it is a friendly rivalry .
Sometimes it is out right dislike for each other.
Same thing with diesel and gas truck owners. Should be friendly rivalry.
Sometimes it' s nasty. Stupid and immature but very easy to slide into.
Charlie is one of the guys here that likes the 6.0 but when he became a moderator in the 6.0 forum, many could only think of him as a V10 owner.
I truly beleive that the administrator that made Charlie a 6.0 mod had only the most noble intensions and was probably hoping to get both groups to grow up and get along.
You know the old saying, " The road to hell was paved with good intensions."
You know moderating these forums is quite a job. Looks like you could get burned out after awhile. Charlie take a break from here for awhile but please come back an post. I really do enjoy your input. Yah people an here can act childish. An the diesel, gas war will go forever. I dont know how many threads ahve been closed because off this. Its sad. Hey its all about Ford who cares. Charlie please dont go forever. Come back after awhile an keep posting.
thank you for putting the words into a much cleaner text for me don.
it's all of the above. esp. bad nasty e-mails from people who started out great and had my email to by pass fte's server. so there would be no record of a flamer sent for fte to go after them and ban them from the site.
those are now blocked from my servers end.
i still need time off to get my new job going after 41 years as a wrench going into sales is big adjustment to make .those who want to stay intouch email tomorrow and after so i can reinstall your addresses.

Hey Captchas, for what it's worth I've enjoyed your posts around here very much - it seems to me that you are one of the more level headed gentlemen around here - moreso than myself. Dont let any diesel guys get you down. It sure is irritating (even to me) how some of them act as if their diesels are so much better and treat gas owners with so much contempt over it.
Stick around capt, it's not everyday we hear words of appreciation for our views and experiences - I'm offering that now because it's true. I feel we will all have lost an honest easy going guy who has a valued opinion to offer at times if you were to leave.
Not all of us are always going to agree on every issue - and there are so many subjects to be debated. I can say this is true about myself and one of the other respected V10 posters - wrenchtraveller. To him Dodge means junk - I love em.
He respects Toyota and I do not. Why bring this up?...Because it dosent matter.
We all have something to offer each other.
I respect the way you guys here in the V10 forum stick together. This is a role model forum for all the other forums on this site - and guys like wrench, Fred, and yourself are the reason for this Capt.
Hope you change your mind about leaving over a few rotten oil burners. You will be missed - even though I'm one of the ones who merely observes this forum usually and dosent interact too often. Good luck whatever you decide to do Capt.
What??? Charlie, reconsider, it just won't be the same. I can't imagine what a few bad apples did, or said, but it must have been bad. I know I joke once in a while, but I never took it to heart. There shouldn't be a huge uproar over someone else's personal preference (unless you like GM ), especially since we are ALL Ford guys.
I gave you a PM.
I'm pretty new to this forum but I have been lurking for about a year. I found this site because my dad owns a 96 PSD and I was looking up info about it. I was checking the site out and I found the V10 forum. Everyday after I found it I kept returning here after I had looked in the PSD forum. After a while, I found myself not even looking at the PSD forum and I would come onto this site and go directly to the V10 forum. I found that you guys down here were EXTREMEMLY knowledgabe. I have learned so much from you guys but the thing that impressed me even more about this forums is that you all are friends. Unlike the diesel forums (from what I can tell), you guys will email each other and act like you guys have been long time friends, even though most of you guys have never met each other in person and live thousands of miles away. This kind of behavior helped make this forum seem like anybody would be welcome.
I have learned so much from the people here and their personalities. Fred is the imformation genious who owns a 3v v10 and owns 8 2v V10s and 2 6.0s in his home business. Wrench is an ex-owner of a sour 6.0 and switched to a V10 as a temporary measure until the new diesel came out but now he's hooked. And you Captain have found your inner child again. You have the want for more power out of your truck. Please bring this inner child to the surface again.
If you think that you have only affected the people who post regularly, you are mistaken. There are a number of members that do not post at all and just read. I was one that read for a year and decided to finally join because even though I currently do not own a ford truck (I own a 95 T-Bird), I knew that you guys would not care and still treat me with respect. I have been shown so much knowledge from this site and it would be a catastrophe to lose one who has been an eye opener to many. Like everyone else, please Captain, rethink your decision.
Wow, Charlie- that's some bombshell! I've been preoccupied with another hobby this summer, and missed any runup to this- I'm sorry!
Please don't let the riff-raff run you off of this forum, you would only reward their behavior and deprive your friends of your cheery posts. Take a break, close any security holes, re-register if you have to, but still hang here with the V10's!
Sorry about the bad experience here. Seems like any forum about vehicles or hunting gives narrow minded people a place to let off steam. That's probably the reason I don't post to much on any of these forums. Don't let their comments get to you.
I have not posted much here and I am not very good with a computer and things work but I too have been watching and learning alot from the V10 Forum. I used to have a PSD but now have a V10 and have learned a lot hrom you guys. Capt. your input will be missed and I hope you come back!!!! Thanks Ron
