tranfer case problem

tranfer case problem
i have a 96 f-150 4x4 it has the borg werner manual shift tranfer case, i got a used one today to replace it but the houising is different the one on my truck is squared off and the one on the one i got today is round, are they interchangeable the nubers on the transfer case itself are the same it is 56-something can't remember but they are the same, can someone help me.

well i got it, all i had to do is change out the front housing and put the tail housing off of mine on the new one, now it works good, it fixed problems that i originally thought was my transmission.
