dist ring gears
as some might know, my 300 rebuild was completed only a few months ago, using using a comp 268h cam. when it's running, i've been very happy with the power increase over stock, and as milage began to build up, increased fuel milage. here's the problem. at around 3500 miles, i lost the ring gear on the distributor.(about 5 teeth gone) this being a new points type dist. i thought for sure it had to be a manufacturer's assembly glitch. i now have 4600 miles on it, and i lost the second dist. yesterday, for the same reason. cam gear looks good, dist. shaft turns freely, and so begins the frustation of a problem i've never had on any 300 motor i've owned. does anyone know of a cause or cure for this? or possibly a bronze gear to fit this dist? ty in advance for any input you can offer...dan
