squeaky front end

got a squeaky front end. i put on new shocks, didnt help at all.it squeaks whenever you turn the wheel, but it seems to do it more when you turn right. it also squeaks when going over speed humps or just generally when the suspension travels. i cant really tell where its coming from. it may be the control arm bushings or maybe the ball joints. are the ball joints or bushings replacable? my haynes manual says the ball joint is part of the control arm and that you have to replace the whole thing. is this true? anyone else had this kind of thing before. truck has 240,000 on it and all ive had to do is replace the alternator. this has been a hell of a truck and i want to keep driving it.

I have seen this alot. Most likely the ball joints are dried up. You should replace them but if money's tight. You can get a needle that goes on thr end of a grease gun and pump them things full. The squeak should go away.
