Well, after tons of research on this site, I bit the bullet and am trading in my 03 F350 (V-10) (actually bought that one based on all the reasearch I did on this site as well) for an 06 F350 with the 6.0. I have to admit that I was planning on another V-10 but once I drove the diesel, I just had to have one. Not nearly as loud as I expected and pick up was much better than I expected. Delivery could be as early as tomorrow or as late as next Friday (have a business trip that is getting in the way). Anyway, I will report back on my initial feedback, but I want to thank everyone here for their frank responses with each other. Knock on wood but it looks like most of the issues with the 03s and 04s are gone.
Just bought my first diesel three weeks ago (06 PSD). Traded in my 00 V10. Now have 1500 miles on the rig and still have the biggest grin on my face. Congrats on your new ride. Enjoy it.
Congrats Fish, you will be grinnin for a long time. Bought mine 1 yr and half and 32,000 miles ago, and still can't wipe the grin off my face...Please help me.
Believe me, if it is ready today, I'm gonna get it. The only thing I am waiting on is prep and 20" wheels. The dealer said that if the wheels aren't ready, they will deliver it with 18s and call me back when the 20s are ready. Anyway, as soon as I get it, I will shoot some pix and post them.
I thought about just having one built, but I was a little worried that interest rates may rise again and the the rebate could go down? Anyway, the only thing mine was missing (and I will put it on after) is the skid plates and the rear stabilizer (sway) bar. Everything else was perfect. Actually, I wanted the Amarillo version, but the wife put her foot down. Superduty, Yes. Yellow Superduty, NO!!!
