Need a better honk

I was driving to work this morning and some punk kids cut me off and then slowed down in front of me to crossover a couple more lanes .

I had to slam on the brakes and honked them, but all I heard was a wimpy 'beeeeep'.

Any of you guys/gals replace your horn with something that sounds like an air horn? Recommendations?

Just FYI, the horn is a lot louder on the outside. These trucks keep the sound out very nicely.

Of course, a big set of air horns off e-bay may be more fun.

The cheapest potential solution is probably the Hella dual horn on the F150store.com site. I thought about getting it ... but just didn't think it would be necessary for me.

Others have gone more expensive ... all the way up to $300+. That's just throwing away money on a mod!

The horn in my 04 F150 seems louder than any other Ford or Lincoln I have owned. Everytime I lock it up and my wife is close by, she always comments on how loud the horn is.

I agree Ruckus. I've gotten the glance from the wife if I lock it when she's too close to the front. The daughter gets a kick out of it. It even scares me sometimes if I'm right in front if it. Not to mention how much it apparently irritates peope who are on the receiving end of it during an offensive or defensive driving moment.

Um, I get defensive moment, but I am strangely fascinated by "offensive driving moment".

My imagination is suggesting;

Little old ladies in crosswalks?
Chasing cats?
Easing up behind a little old man with his hat down over his ears, doing twenty in the fast lane and WHOOP?

Offensive driving movement.
Can't get past that one...

at least i'm honest, but try this one...

Urban "kids" after school completely disregarding crosswalks and traffic lights, snarling traffic as they lolligag across the street. F150 waiting in middle lane, explorer to my right, kids don't see me. They come around the Explorer, staring the driver down for getting too close to them and WHAM! horn in all its glory, not to mention a huge grill at eye level of these punks. man, that felt good!

I wish I had seen it.

The kids around here walk right out in front of anything. Not sure they are stupid, just don't think anything can hurt them.

Still love the expression offensive driving. Covers some very interesting ideas.
Hook up a 'gun camera' so when you fire the horn, you get a snap shot.
You could post the pictures under kills, crippled, got away.
Heck, we could start a competition.
I'd have to get some bigger horns though. Swipe em off a tug boat maybe???

dixie, now i'm frightened. That's a psychotic moment, not offensive. I always enjoy the "i'm going to pull out of a side street and block you while i wait for traffic to clear on the other side of the street" opportunity, as long as they have the window open. The stock horn works quite well in that "offensive" moment.
