I feel your pain. They told me I can't have anything over 36's on my 250. At least the ridiculous insurance rates make up for the crappy lift laws

I tried to get onto the site you suggested but could not find it. Can you get the exact address to me. I am looking for a highboy and I live in Washington. Thank you...Fjord driver

Confused

Thank you Mil1ion, but I am trying to find where I can get to the classic area the last post told me of. truck trader only starts at 1981. Not sure how to get to the older Fords. Thanks again. Fjord

Another place to try is cars.com. It is almost like the trucktrader, but with cars.com you can search the 1982 and older vehicles by clicking on the advanced search. Once in the advanced search, just look for the 1982 and older criteria. Happy Huntin!
Oh yeah, Hiboys rock!

Btw, did anyone notice that this thread is 5 years old? Just wanted to point that out before you spend too much time helping old andym out finding a truck.

just some miscellanea to add...

highboys were produced until midway through the 1977 model year, but yes, 1976 was the last full year.

The 351M/400's replaced the 360/390 in 1977, and the open knuckle disc brake D44 HD first appeared in 1976.

rear leaf springs were 2 1/4", same as 1 ton F350's through the 80's. Cooincidentally, if you need crossmembers for these trucks, check out F350's. (except for the tcase mounting crossmember of course)

front diffs were low pinion, to have appropriate angle on the front driveshaft. try using a high pinion, and you'll see that something like ...an engine oilpan! will get in the way.
