Have a 2002 F150 with 4.6L automatic and 3.31 axle
I see many adds for 'power programmers" (diablo/hypertech etc) and invite fedback from actual users re- have you noticed actual improvement of acceleratiohn/towing ability/gas mileage etc using these 'tuners"?
What are the differences between the 4400 vs $800 versions..ie...what parameters do the more costly ones adjust vs the cheaper? which brand(s) is(are) recommended?
My truck gets 18 mpg-hiway-conservative driving but seems sluggish on hills.
You probably won't get a lot of feedback in this section. People tend to come here only to get chip tuner questions answered and once they buy one they stick with the sections they normally hang out in. If you want specific user feedback you'll have to ask in the section for your truck but remember 99% of the people who give you feedback can only tell you about the brand they bought. Most people don't buy 2, 3, 4 tuners to try them all out.
I don't know what you mean by "the difference between the 4400 vs $800 versions". I don't know what a 4400 is, and have never seen an $800 tuner (that's double the MSRP on any of the brands." Can you clarify what you're asking, and what $800 tuner you're referring to?
