High-Mount Stop

I've been thinking about my high-mount stop (brake light on top of cab) ever since that post about the smoked lenses for them. My brake light has never worked and since I have the two lower lights, I haven't made it a priority. I tried changing the bulb when I first bought it, but that didn't work. The white lights on either side work though, so the whole thing isn't bad... so I guess my question is, has anybody else had and then fixed this problem? I guess it's not imperative that I fix it, but it does bother me when other people are missing that brake light so I hate to be one of those people who bother me...

You didn't say what year your truck is but on my 2000 it's powered through the brake pedal switch, also check the ground.
