Glad to see you got your gallery up. I hope it wasn't to difficult.
Looks like you have a pretty good start and everything does look solid. Is that a aluminum diamond plate firewall I see? Can't wait to see some progress pics. Have fun.
WOW! What a great starting point!
Thanks for getting some pics in a gallery for us. I think everyone here likes to look at what the other guy is doing.
pics in gallery of local car show just added and one question how do i get the thing next to my name i forget what it is called no avtar or something like that any way please help.
Alec, the image associated with your name in all your posts is called your avatar - sort of like an alter-ego. You need to create an avatar image and upload it to your gallery. There are some restrictions on the image size (in pixels) and the image file size (in bytes). If you are uncomfortable messing with images, do some searching on the web. You'll find literally thousands and thousands of small images that could be used as an avatar. Some of the folks have used photos they have taken and reduced in size so they fit in the small avatar window.
If you have any questions or need help, send me a private message and I'll give you a hand.
i have a question how come when ever i edit my gallery it automatticly cheaks the box to hide gallery and i have to change it after every time i edit it. and then one of my gallerys just got deleted ? how do i fix
Earl will do a better job of explaining this than I can, but it seems there are two levels of galleries. The "top level" one, consisting of albums from all of FTE's many fora (grade 11 Latin) is to contain only calendar quality shots. There's a real specific definition of "calendar quality". The other one, which is available through the user name on each forum, contains all other kinds of photos. The "hide" function just keeps the project ones off the main one. Or something like that. Right George? Close enough?
Dave
Alec, if you have a real show queen, something that you'd see on the cover of a calendar for a parts house, then by all means don't check the Hide Album box for pictures of that truck. If you have a normal truck (like most of us), or just pictures of how you did something or old parts, etc., make sure the Hide Album box is checked.
When the Hide Gallery box is not checked, anybody visiting the site sees the gallery through the main gallery list. They are likely interested in show quality trucks and not how we bent a bumper to fit correctly. If you hide your album, it only removes it from the main gallery list - it does not hide it from the rest of us who access your gallery.
As far as your album getting deleted, this happens sometimes if the album is repeatedly set up as non-hidden and it contains pictures of non-show-quality trucks. This is currently an issues that is being discussed and I will report any changes that result from the discussion.
For now, keep all your albums hidden unless you have one that only contains pictures of a real calendar-quality truck.
