i don't have the tow pkg. is there any way to get the factory direct tow hitch only. i know u can get aftermarket like hide-a-hitch,but i would love to weld it in place rather then bolt-on. any suggestions...thanks guys...

not sure but I think my factory hitch is bolted on. I'll check this weekend and report back sir!
I agree with rather having it welded. Save a few bucks, buy an aftermarket, bolt it on then melt a few rods to it. I would be willing to bet the frame is predrilled anyway.
Almost all hitches bolt on whether OEM, aftermarket or factory installed. Almost all frames are predrilled and installation is quick and easy. Also, you might need to take it off someday and you can weaken your frame by improperly welding on it.
um...i swear that i saw on a lot the hitch directly welded to the frame..can anybody check there's out and reply? i think properly done it would give you a superior strength standpoint....
Yup, looked at all the common ones. The factory one is better.
But it doesn't really matter unless you are towing 6-7000 pounds.
Up to 3500-4500 you would be happy with an 80-95 buck hitch.
Even above that, the factory would not make any true difference. Also, some of them, including the factory, interfere with aftermarket exhaust.
Just do the homework and you will be fine with any of the hitchs.
