Received my Diablo Predator today. Loaded the 65hp tune on my 2005 F250 PSD CC. I was a little nervous as I've only had the truck for about a month. I stuck with the 65hp because I don't have gauges or exhaust mods yet. The install was VERY smooth and the truck perfroms great !! Seems very responsive and powerful. I kind of like the rough trasmission shifting.
I'm wondering why Ford didn't tune them to perform better if it possible ?
Also, I was reading in the truck owners manual about a "black box" that allows Ford to tell if the truck was outputting extra HP etc... and that there was no way to delete that info. Is this true or are they just talking about the fault codes etc... that I reset bfore I take it in for service ? Will the transmission have to re-learn the stock flash or is already saved in the Predator ?
Any thoughts on a HOG exhaust mod and air intake mod voiding the warranty ? I know they "supposedly" have to prove it, but I am wondering if anyone has any real life experiences with those mods ?
Thanks !!
Ready for the rain here in Central Texas !
If you grab some beer and read you can probably find all your answers IRT guages, intake and warranty issues.
I had the predator and thought it was a great product for the money. I have seen any changes where the truck relearned. I did drive it around after programming in different gearts to see if that would change anything.
