Here's the situation...
I have a single wire 140 Amp chrome alternator that I want to somehow put on my 93 F-150... is there any way that I can hook this up? My current alternator has 3 different connectors going to it.
alright... I am finding absolutely nothing on this topic, and since nobody here seems to have any idea, I'm probably just going to sell this alternator and forget about it.
I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to come off that way... I was talking about the research that I was doing on my own... I wasn't coming up with anything and it was looking like it was going to be a huge hastle. Something else that I didn't mention is that I'm going to have to modify my mounting bracket for the powermaster alternator... I think it might be a GM model or something... that's the reason I'm looking to give up.
Sorry if I came off as a jerk... I really didn't intend to
The delco has a built in voltage regulator. Yes you can hook it right to the battery, in fact you need to: the circuit uses the battery as a giant capacitor to help regulate the voltage.
I think you'll have more problems fabricating a decent looking mount than actually running off of it.
Cheers,
Tim
hey, don't worry about it... I was only saying those things because of the research I was doing outside of this forum... I was just merely posting that I had no findings on the web.
But anyways... I'm still probably not going to use this alternator because it doesn't fit my stock mounting brackets... the stock is the 3-bolt pattern. One up top that bolts to the idler pulley and 2 down below... With that said the alternator has only 2 holes and are facing the wrong direction.
haha.. I like your style, but you have to understand that I have some bad luck.
and 9 times out of 10... if I build it it's probably going through my radiator
Not to mention I'm worried about allignment with the other pulleys, I'm sure if my angle was off I would end up with some problems.
