Sure does look like an Expy outside, especially from the rear. Interior is a quantum leap from the prior (current) model.
The D-Max is supposed to show up on the Suburban, but market-wise I doubt it's a big deal. GM has 60% of the full-size SUV market- it's something they understand pretty well.
I agree with Polarbear. GM dominates the full size SUV market and the typical user of their product does not need a diesel (or even a SUV). They are used for short trips to school or the grocery and they seldom tow anything or travel a lot of miles. Even if they put diesels in their SUVs, many of the sales would be at the expense of diesel crew cab GM trucks.
