Brake Pad Question

I just had a mechanic put new front pads on my '98 Ranger. The invoice says he used Wagner MX409 pads. Being the curious type I checked online and the MX409 is for a Honda Prelude. The Wagner pads for the Ranger have a different number (652).

The question is, would pads for a Honda vehicle even fit and work on my truck or did he just pull up the wrong part in the system?

Wrong part on the invoice. The pads are not even close to being the same.

I'm wondering, are there any aftermarket brakepads that would provide better performance than the OEM ones? I drive a 4.2 F150. Thanks

You can somtimes get better performance pads, but they often wear much quicker and cost more. It's worth checking around a little.

There are good compromises out there for performance, life and price. Spectra One makes excellent brake pads.
