The guy I bought my 77 F150 Ranger from said the engine was a 302 V8. But I am having second thought about the size. From most of the trucks I looked at and read about in my truck year were 351 V8. Is there a way to tell a difference between 302s and 351s?
A 302 will have the heads right at the top of the timing cover/water pump, while the 351W has another ½" of deck height above it.
