I want a gear reduction box for my 78 it IS a 2wd and has a NP-435 trans. I was looking at one in a 79 F150 C6 auto but it is married I need a divorced one. Also One with the lowest low range. I was told that dodge used an NP gear driven with like 2.8 low in the 88-93 W 250-350's Is it what I need? I was wandering if I should look at only fords or will a chevy case bolt up.
What year make and model trucks will bolt to a 2wd NP 435?
Dustin
I think the only divorced case that the fords used was a np205 and the reduction is 1.97:1 I have heard about the gear driven case that dodge used someplace else but don't recall where, and if it was actually a divorced case or not.
what was the 205 used in? F150, F250, What years
Essentally when I go a scouten what truck do I look for. Anyone else know if the dodge case will work it sounds awsome!
the dodge tranny's usually won't work with fords since the spline counts are for the most part, different
dana 20 from an EB will bolt up behind your NP435. you'll need an intermediate housing from a 6-cyl and then the 1" thick adapter plate. the Dana 20 t-case is much easier to twin stick (the j-shift) b/c you dont even have to open the case, just cut the shifter linkage AND the D20 is comparable to a 205 since they both have steel cases and are gear driven. not to mention the 20 has a MUCH better low range than the 205's.... try D20's 2.46 whereas the 205 has 1.96
