lifting 4x2

hey i got another question what would be the best way to go for lifting a two wheel drive..1986 f150 ive read up a bit about body lifts, shackle flips etc..and body lifts sound pretty bad but i wont be doing any serious off roading..i dont plan on hauling anything either..also does anyone know if 33's or 31s will fit on it with say a 2" lift on it? thanks again

I have never done it, but why don't you investigate and see if a 4wd lift will fit a 2wd? Both are twin-I-beam, and I am assuming both have the pivot brackets in the middle(lift kits use taller ones) and radius arm brackets(lift kits have taller these too) and dropped pitman arms(your 2wd uses the same steering as the 4wd as far as I know).

I believe 31s will fit some stock height trucks. I know they will fit with a 2" lift (I think that is about what I have on my '81', pics in gallery). I know some of the 4wd lift parts will work, if not all. The axle pivot brackets will swap from 4wd to 2wd as long as it F-150 to F-150. I'm not sure but I think the radius arms, radius arm brackets, and pitman arm from a 4wd will work on a 2wd, as I think you can still use these if you were to put 4wd TTB in. As I said I'm not sure, so don't go by word but I sure some will know.
