Wonder wheel.........

I'm sick of going out hunting, getting a little twisted up trying to turn around on a mountain road, and spinning the tire that's getting a little air. So, what type of locker/limited slip are you guy's running, and how's it working out for you?

Detroit Locker here. The only time I can't move is when both rear wheels do not touch the ground other than that, either one of the rear wheel up isn't a problem with the Detroit. It's awsome in the dirt and mud too. Wet grass isn't a problem like it used to be with the stock LS unit. It's a bit rough with a manual transmission, you have to shift quickly and stay within 200 rpm between the input shaft and the output shaft otherwise you get a nice clunk and a little jolt. Feels like an E4OD with the 1-2 shift valve going south. I never notice any tire-squeal during turns unless I floor it before the turn. (which gets you nice power slides on wetish ground.) If I take a sharp turn, and I have the window open, I can hear it clicking though. Normal. I stay off of the accelerator during turns, so there isn't any extra rear tire wear that I can see after 7000 miles. (Toyo M55 which supposedly have harder rubber than, say, a BF Goodrich AT for example.) It seems to be disengaging correctly for turns which is good. Sometimes the right axleshaft engages a little late when starting from a dead stop and its like someone whacking your tailgate with an antenna. When that happens, you can feel the truck take-off a little crooked then straighten up when the right axle catches but that doesn't happen a lot. Anyhow, that's my take on the Detroit.

The Detroit is number one on my list. Never had one before, so I wanted to see what's the scoop. You seemed to answer all my questions. Thank You, Jeff

ARB's front and rear. Best of both worlds and no noise what so ever.
