What will work?
I was in the process of building a 302 engine, Don't know year. It has a roller camshaft. I completed rebuild and this is what happened. Checked and adjusted timing. primed oil pump. Everything was within factory specifications. I installed Mallory distributor, connected MSD unit as per instructiions. Rechecked all work done. Ran electric fuel pump to prime fuel system(Holly fourbarrel). Cranked engine until it started. About four revolutions, then I had a very bad double explosion. Blew exhaust apart. I have disassembled engine and have found nothing wrong, with the exceptiion of a broken crankshaft. Any ideas what has happened? Am sending MSD box back to maker after talking with them. I have another block, which is good, Will the camshaft and roller lifters fit into a earler block without presenting a problem? The crank was polished and checked for any problem, none found.
