Seems awhile ago I read something somewhere about using "molassis" as a stripping agent for body panels.
Is anyone here familar with that? If so, how well does it work?
Reason being is I have some parts I would like to chemically strip, but the nearest Ready Strip is a few states away from where I live.
So if I could make my own tank to hold the parts and fill it with molassis or whatever else would work I'd like to try it!
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
The word "Molasses" is used to cover a variety of products in the sugar industry, "Fancy Molasses", is a direct product of sugar cane and is in no way a by-product of any sugar manufacturing process. Fancy Molasses is an excellent source of iron, calcium, and vitamin B and serves as a great energy food. Now do you really think that it will strip paint? I don't.

Talk to some speed shops, locally owned body shops or hot rod shops and they should be able to point you in the direction of a good stripper in your area.

Thanks Carlene, I knew I read about it somewhere before!
That's exactly what I need is rust removal, and I've checked all over my area but nobody does chemical stripping around here, just sandblasting & other types of blasting that won't get down into all the crevices of 50 yr. old doors, etc.
I think I'll try the molassis method!
Thanks again!
