My neighbor has a '02 Ranger with a black plastic handle.
The plastic broke.
Is this a dealer item???
Can he get just the handle???
Can he get one made of "metal", like a chrome plated one???
I told him if he could get a meatl one, it might be stronger than the plastic.
My tailgate handle is the same color as the truck ('98 Ranger).
If he was to get one the same color as his truck, what hoops would he need to navigate???
In my ordeal with my broken plastic handle I went with the plastic one because the actual handle part is shaped differently. The metal one cost more from Ford (I know cuz they gave me the wrong one). The metal ones can be bought from anywhere , also cheaper, since it all bolts on the same.
I'm working on my sister's 2000 Ranger and i ordered a metal handle off of ebay. It was $45 cheaper then the dealership. I asked if it would replace the plastic one and he responded that if it was about 5 1/4" long it will work, they also have one that is about 6" long and he said it would not replace that one. Try ebay and see what they have and ask questions. I did and hopefully it'll save her about $45. Hope this helps.
well mine broke on my 2000 and i could have gotten one at jc whitney for about $15 less than the one i got through ford but it needed to be ordered so i broke down and got the one from ford for $40. i could have gotten either plastic or metal at jc whitney. the one from ford is metal but black (anodized).
