For those waiting to see if there are any changes to the Ranger for 2006, there will be some. These pics are of a standard cab in low trim form. Note rear badging, when lite round tail lights, grille from the superduty. It does give it a face lift. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2104866
I saw a 2006 Ranger Supercab FX4 in red and gray today........I think other than the badging they went all wrong....I think the plastic fake bolts on the fender flares look cheap and the mini superduty look is pathetic. I told the guy that was driving it that I thought it was ugly and he agreed.....it was a loaner cuz his was in the shop but he did let me look it over. Interior didnt seem to change much.
The irony of the deal is that they really haven't changed substantially since 1993 . Bottom line: more quick and easy face lifts for who knows how much longer .
* I do like my Ranger but really it's about time Ford wake up and give us something genuinely new to buy.

I dont see why they dont work on upgrading the engine. Right now the ranger is the worst deal you can get for your money. the chevy 4 bangger is putting out about the same performance as the 4.0 with the same gas mileage. Nissans 4.0 is putting out 265hp, the cab is just as roomy, the ride is pretty close, the mileage is rated at 17-19 hwy, and the worst part...its cheaper. Ive always been a Ford man because they have a rep for being tough "work" trucks(or at teast thats what i thought). Personally when i look at a truck, i look for functionallity before looks and "convienience". Ford Rangers dont even offer a vinyl interior. I dont want carpet interior and cloth seats when I'm working in dusty, muddy or wet/rainy conditions. I still stand behind my mazda though. Built Ford Tough...ill follow any other light truck on the market today...just a lil' bit slower though.
