jack your truck up and put both axles on jackstands with enough daylight under the tires to safely put yor vehicle in gear without anything touching the ground----------have a friend put your 4x range selector thru 4low , 4 hi , neutral , and observe the results>>>>if you have posi units in either axle both tires on that axle should turn together!!!!if you have posi units and they are not working they may need a new clutch pack installed and some additive along with new gear oil...............You can make your system a part-timer with a set of hubs from MileMarker or the other company that I can't think of their name-----You probably have an np203 xfer case if you have full time 4x drive!!!fd :-X11
