I replaced my o rings while i had the valve covers off for a burned harness. I found one injector had a set of o rings tore up pretty bad. I put everything back together and now i have a slight miss. I have 3 injectors that spit out alot of oil out of the spouts, 3 that spit hardly any out and 2 that spit oil out just not as much as the other 3. Did i mess something up or did i clog my injectors by cleaning the tips and what not? The tips and underneath the copper gasket was very dirty. Also i get alot of white smoke when i load it up
How long ago did you re-oring if you just did this and have not put 20 to 30 miles on your truck all the air in the heads has not purged out. The cylenders are still fouled with oil and fuel. It takes driving to clear out all the air and oil and to smoth out the idle.
i put a straight edge across the injectors. They are all seated evenly. I wacked em with the dead blow mallet and nothing changed. I dont have any Check engine lites. Just a miss.
Need to take it to have a cylinder contribution test done. This is a test on the Hickock NGS scan tool the drops out one cylinder at a time. The miss will show up as a miss and witch cylinder it is. This is the scan tool that all Factory Ford dealers use or shoud has and use. I work for a diesel fuel repair shop and this is the tool I use.
How long have you run the truck since you did the work?? They say it takes up to 50 miles to work all the air out of the high pressure system.. just a idea.
