New here, and getting a 1980 F100 LB either Friday or early next week. It's kind of ratty, but for $350 with a good title and almost no rust I think I did OK. The seller thinks it needs a rear main seal, but I think what we got here is a seriously leaky valve cover gasket that's running down the back of the motor (302 V8). Even if it is, I'll still be ahead of the game after fixing the rear main. Here's what else the truck needs immediately:
-Passenger side door
-door lock and 1/4 window for driver door
-2 tires on front. (off to the Co-Op for them)
Does Ford sell a set with the ignition lock and door locks so they all 3 will take the same key?
The ignition key would be different than the door key is anyways. Just change the door locks as a pair. Look around the wrecking yards in your area for the 1/4 window, a glass shop will charge you an arm and a leg + your firstborn for one. They're not that hard to replace as a unit, either. As for the door, you may luck out and find a whole unit in a bone yard, saving you the time it takes to replace the glass, providing it is in good shape.
