I'm probably way off here as my experiance is with the old EECIV processor that was an all in one box.

Cool stuff!
There are scalar values in any Ford EEC-V and EEC-VI processor to turn on and off the automatic shifting, so that won't be a problem. With the second processor, though, the flash memory has been erased on all blocks; it is nothing but hardware. I can rewrite the software/firmware to do anything I need it to do...all of the Ford programming is long gone; it is nothing but an empty processor module with 448k of empty flash memory, with a multiplex module

I've had the algorithms done for a while, but I haven't found suitable hand controls to use for input yet...if anyone has any refereces for steering wheel mounted hardware (preferably remote control, because I don't want to mess with the clockspring) feel free to post it.

I have been thinking about going to a floor/console mounted shifter (like the FX4 F150.)
The shifter from a 2006 Explorer has the correct indexes PRND321.
However, something like the "Autostick" that Chrysler uses would be cool.
I suppose a spring loaded console shifter could be made to upshift and downshift the torqshift. I am wondering what to do about the parking pin though.

(I like thinking out loud!)

Hey Matt any progress on this? Just curious. Would it be possible to do this with only the original processor in place? If this could be done by simply rerouting some of the signals to switches (and associated kibles n bits) that might make things a little easier. I wouldn't mind losing the auto capability and going strictly to a manualy shifted (via up/down switch or the like) Torqshift.
It certainly is fun to shift it manually 1,2,3 on the column but feels pretty lousy when you go to drive and it skips 4th and goes to 5th.

Negative. It functions now but still needs work. Haven't had time to work on it in actuality, truck has only been operational for 6 days total since Christmas. Have been working on some items on it I have been wanting for some 2 years; the shifter has definately been put on the sideburner.

Wow, this one is old.

No new news at this point; simply haven't had the time nor the focus to work on either one lately...most of the parts for both projects are in taped up box amoungst other projects

I can remember in 1979 I got my first Apple ][+ computer. I could wire it to the house and control the lights and had an alarm system built into it too. I was 10 years old. Now I'm 37 and haven't a freakin' clue what all that crap Matt is talking about.

I REALLY wish I had stayed with it. I feel so freakin' dumb now a days!

I just want to hit the gas and go like a bat out of he!!.
