Thanks to everyone for responses.
The FM modulator in my Delphi XM works great unless you are in a city such as Memphis which has a station on or next to each of the 10 choices of stations to transmit to. I had an old Sony FM Stereo modulator which has RCA inputs and hooks in line with the truck antenna. When powered on, it disconnects the truck antenna. Nothing gets through or bleeds in. It then sends the audio from the audio out jack on the Delphi to FM 88.5. Works great and no need to change or hunt for a clean channel while passing through large cities. When I was buying the cable at Radio Shack to go from the Delphi to the Sony, the guy there said they almost always had to suggest this route because of the number of stations in the Memphis area. I think everyone of the lower channels the Delphi will brodcast on are occupied by TN or MS PBS stations. We are leaving next week for Utah and Nevada and wish to not have to hunt for a clean channel every time we go through a metro area along I-40.
Again, thanks to everyone, especially JB (?) for the info on how to pull the dash. Couldn't beleive how easy it came off.
I have a Roady II and I must say that I was very sceptical about XM or Sirus for a long time. I have been watching the prices and for some time now I have been seeing the Roady II for 50.00 bucks at Stables. So the other afternoon I was board and needed something to work on so I went down and picked one up. I have never been around the XM or Sirus but from what I read I thought I wanted the XM. I have a hunt coming up this weekend and have a road trip ahead of me and in places there is nothing and I am getting to old I guess for just my cd. I like the news.
It was a very fast install and works great. I have been very pleased with the XM so far and have not found a reason that makes me think in the future I would change my mind.
John - the '05 radios are bolted in. You set the parking brake, turn the key to "run" lower the shift lever (assuming an automatic) to its lowest point, pop the dash off and you'll find the radio bolted in with four 6mm (if memory serves) hex-head screws.
The AUX button functionality requires an adapter ($65 or so), which has just recently become available. I'd use the FM modulator that you already have if the sound quality it offered made you happy in the past.
The adapter is made by Precision Interface Electronics. It took them a while to figure out the CAN protocol, but they finally got it right and began shipping a couple of weeks ago.
It is a small, black box with two RCA inputs, an output level adjustment dial and the appropriate wiring harness for our radios. It needs to be connected to 12V power and a ground. I tapped it into the power port wires (the "upper" cigarette lighter). That was an easy spot.
Here is a link to their "news" page - it should be the first item at the top. If not, just search for FRD04-AUX.
Their website has a "Shop" link at the top which will give you some options where to buy. I'd call the retailers and see who has it in stock, as it has been a very hot item.
I have the steering wheel radio controls in my truck, and now when I cycle through the "mode" button, it now includes DVD and AUX functions, which weren't there before I plugged the adapter in place. The audio coming through the adapter plays both in the DVD mode and the AUX mode. I like it.
Thanks t_b. Now I would want it of course for XM and IPOD.....

Good looking install. I am looking at the RoadyII, how do you like it so far??? Where did you mount your antenna??? Thanks alot for the pic, they gave me a great place to mount it.
I just ran the antenna under the door seal and under the windshield molding and put it in the center of the cab right at the front. I have been really impressed with the roady. To the point that I have been thinking real hard about the 70.00 adapter to go direct to the radio.
I have been running a roady II in my other vehicles for some time and love it. I am getting ready to install it in my 05' f-350. I am a nut about wiring and keeping it clean looking. Has anyone seen a 90 deg. 1/8" mini jack to RCA cable to plug into the roady? The power and antenna inputs are 90's but my Aux. out is a straigt plug and it drives me nuts looking at it.
Just a quick update. I just added the Delphi FM Direct Adapter SA10112-11P1 to my Roady II and this it the best thing I have done in quite a while. I have had the Roady II for about a month and it is great. I was Elk hunting about two weeks ago and listening to Rita on CNN and what was going on was fantastic no drop signal or any problems at all. The only complaint that I had was when I was driving from Arizona to New Mexico I had to change frequencys several times. Now the sound is even better and the frequency problem is gone. I have another hunt in about two weeks and I cant wait to travel across again and not spend half of the trip looking for stations every 75-100 miles.
